Richard Luhanga
Richard Luhanga is the Senior Technical Advisor for Strategic Information / Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) for Malawi EMPOWER Activity. He provides strategic leadership, management, and oversight to drive the project’s strategic information / monitoring and evaluation agenda and uses data to drive decision-making and enhance programming.
Richard is a passionate data scientist, researcher, monitoring, evaluation, and learning expert with over 12 years of progressive experience leading research set up, implementation, and managing Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems in health with focus on HIV/AIDS, family planning and maternal newborn and child health. He is a skilled research coordinator, quantitative and qualitative data analyst with extensive experience in summarizing data for a wide variety of audiences. He is very familiar with PEPFAR indicators and reporting requirements; M&E capacity building for local implementing partners; knowledge management; providing technical guidance in developing and improving information as well as quality assurance and quality improvement systems.
